Why even bother making a free agent goalie of 34 years old with 99 reflex???

I think you've got the stats backwards, giving him 155 hands and 248 mobility.

He'll play maybe 3 games in his career before the buyer realizes his 7.68 GA is useless, unless you want to throw some games to dive in the standings, which as we should all know is not cool.

And we see this useless type of goalie repeatedly in the free agent list.

What's the deal, Bob? Why give us useless free agents that nobody can use? Is it to punish rookie GMs for lacking sim experience? Honestly, as I'm sure you're a GM in this sim and know yourself this fact of the goalie's uselessness very well, that's the only motivation I can guess at. What else?
Who's given you the best offer so far?
Not a big deal, but in the pages that display Sportegy record holders, all of my players are listed as "false", suggesting they aren't actually playing this season, but they already have five or four games a piece. The declaration should rather read as "true".
Oooo! That's sounds pretty mean. But I'm guessing my team is still a little bit tougher, as I have three goons over 300, one of which is nearly 500. My biggest goons are getting older though. Last season one was 500+ and another 400+.

Any others out there?
Sea Monster of the UHL has 10 players with more than 200 toughness. If this is not the toughest team in all of Sportegy, who's monster is it?

Let's brawl.

If you're in the market for toughness, but reluctant to add my goon because he's an aging vet, consider this:

Sportegy's own rules do not accurately describe how the sim treats aging. As stated on the rules page, the aging process starts with toughness declining at age 35. But that's not true to what's actually taking place in the sim. It is apparent to me that the sim actually starts the process one year later, at age 36, the age when a player's experience stat climbs by 10 points for a total of 40. Rather than follow the official calculations, adjust everything by starting one year later when formulating age-point predictions for your players. It's one of many typos left over from the days of the prior Alphasim ownership, old information that is no longer up-to-date with more recent changes in the game. The newer Alphasim management doesn't seem to make much of an effort with updates like this.

Godzilla should start the season with these stats at these ages:
37yrs 218+65+337+40=660
38yrs 196+65+303+40=604
39yrs 176+65+273+40=554
40yrs 158+58+246+40=502
41yrs 142+52+221+40=455
42yrs 128+47+199+40=414

So, if you are actually in the market for some toughness, you can see that Godzilla would still be a mean bastard for you in the UHL until at least the age 39. And if you're in a spot one day with a comfortable matchup, where you could rest a guy, throw down some extra muscle to bash your rival, and give another guy a rest late in the season, he might even play a game for you at age 40. And for that matter, at age 41 and 220 points of goon still left in him, a similar argument could be made where he might even fill in for a basher and one last hurrah.

Recapping my sales pitch:
On several UHL teams, Godzilla could serve well as a depth player for at least the next four seasons, from ages 36-39, and then perhaps chip in with a couple more games before the end of his career.

On my team, however - the best team in the UHL by far - the unfortunate fact is that Godzilla does not have much more of a meaningful future left, and his ability to contribute is wasting away prematurely.

If Godzilla can help your team, please take a moment to make me an offer. I can promise you that no reasonable offer will be refused.
True dat!
No, I meant the Goons were giving up already :o)
It was my thought that he had been training his team hard last season and came up tired down the stretch, not leaving himself any gas to get by you. If he's rested, I don't see you overcoming such a deep squad with less than half its talent. But you're right, there's a fair chance he repeats his strategy to lose out again. Fatigue is uber important, I think, which is why I strategized to have all of my players at zero fatigue to start the final round.
I wouldn't say the Goons are guaranteeing anything right now. They just played a game without six of their top 18 skaters and lost to you. I could see your Spets landing in 3rd only if teams above you bench a bunch of talented vets to play their youth. And the Goons aren't the only team that I've ranked in the Top 6 that seem set to do this; the Gamblers, Gambler$ and Albs are benching vets, too. If the Goons play it like this throughout the season, you might even sweep your series with them and end up in 3rd, but it looks like Finesse will be playing his vets this season, so I don't see a big chance for you to overcome his squad.
I'm only considering top and depth roster players with this list - not coaching, management nor prospects:

1 Monz
2 Goons
3 Finesse
4 Gambler$
5 Gamblers
6 Albs
7 Spets
8 Rhino
9 Pens
10 Copper
11 Fire
12 Big Bad

If Spets holds down the 4 spot at the end of this season, it'll have been a fantastic feat indeed!
Giving up already???
Do you need some muscle or a goalie with good reflexes to help you out this season? Monster has some trading options for you.

Some useful Monster assets that are most reasonable for me to move:
Godzilla W36yrs 218+65+374+40=697
Leviathan W35yrs 313+65+240+30=648
Jvaboxétécouille Pytuvabraillé D38yrs 110+193+216+40=559
Mystecetes Seasall G39yrs 288+108+50+40=486 (will trade with the hope of getting a decent and younger backup in return)

Have a look at any of my young prospects who haven't already seen significant training with the big club. They all have a spot on my future roster, but I could send them your way in the right trade.

I'm in the market this season almost exclusively looking for a younger backup goalie.
Anybody have some assets they want to put on the market? I suggest we put all these here in once place to help us keep track over the long season.
...if there was a shutout category for the goalie's record page...

Any news on when the playoff section of the records page will be operational? I think it's one of the more interesting things to roam through here at Sportegy.
