I have 2 players age 25 on my farm team. These guys will never be called up to my pro team. My thought is to release them or would they retire? Is there any other way to replenish your farm club outside of trades and draft picks? Would the system add players to a farm club if it losing players to retirement.

The only way to add players to the farm team is draft, waivers and trades

Players only retire if they are on waivers at game 16. If not, they will stay on your roster forever.
